Azure Container Foundation
Container deployment that holds. Secure, scalable, standardized — so you can focus on what matters: your applications.
Five teams, five clusters, five different approaches and nobody knows how the other set up their environment. Sound familiar? The Azure Container Foundation puts an end to the chaos. One platform, 100% Azure-native, fully deployed via Infrastructure as Code and production-ready in 3 to 4 weeks. We take care of the infrastructure so your teams can focus on their applications.
You want to use containers, but where to start?
Whether you're just getting started, your developers are also managing infrastructure on the side, or you need to keep complex multi-stage environments under control – these questions will be familiar:
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Container Apps: Which is right for us?
Short answer: If possible, Container Apps. Less overhead, consumption-based billing, Scale-to-Zero included. For more complex scenarios with Helm Charts, GPU nodes, or full Kubernetes API access, AKS is the right choice. And if you need both: Our Azure Container Foundation delivers both from one platform.
Our developers also handle the infrastructure. Isn't that normal?
Normal maybe, but not ideal. When developers switch between code and cluster configuration, both suffer. ACF takes the infrastructure part off your teams' hands: we take care of the platform, your people do what they're actually there for: building software.
How do you prevent every team from doing their own thing?
Through a common foundation. One platform, one security standard, one network concept. ACF defines the guardrails with Azure Policies, Managed Namespaces, and RBAC via Entra ID. Within these guardrails, your teams have all the freedom they need.
What about security? Is a firewall enough?
No, and that would be too simple. ACF uses a private-network-first approach: everything is private by default. Add a Web Application Firewall, Microsoft Defender for Containers with runtime scanning, Managed Identities instead of secrets, and Azure Policies for compliance at the cluster level. Security here is not an add-on, but the foundation.
And when can we get started?
Your production container platform will be ready in 3 to 4 weeks. One day workshop for configuration decisions, deployment from GitHub into your tenant, then hands-on training and handover. Those who want can book the Managed Service right away, and we'll take care of everything long-term.

Kubernetes is running. The questions too.
On April 16th at Azure Day in Microsoft HQ Munich, we bring together the people who answer these questions every day.
What makes the Azure Container Foundation
From theory to practice: Our cloud architects Benjamin and Jonas show in the webcast how ACF is built, why Container Apps are our first recommendation, and how the operations model works in everyday use.
