Why a Microsoft partner from Offenbach set up a company in Bern

Swiss customers had been making their way to Offenbach for years before we founded glueckkanja Switzerland AG in Bern in December 2024, just as we had previously done with our office in Austria. Today, the ISG Provider Lens ranks us as a leader in Germany and Switzerland, and our Managed SOC runs as a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) entirely out of the DACH region, with no offshore chain and no handoffs across time zones.

Does glueckkanja offer a Managed SOC in Switzerland?

Yes. Through glueckkanja Switzerland AG in Bern, we serve Swiss companies with our Managed SOC, an MXDR service built on Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR with 24/7 SOC monitoring, threat hunting and incident response. As a member of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA), we rely exclusively on the Microsoft Security Stack. The service is ISO 27001 certified and delivered entirely by our own team in the DACH region, with no outsourcing.

What is the difference between MDR, MXDR and SOC as a Service?

MDR typically refers to Managed Detection and Response at the endpoint level; MXDR extends that coverage to identities, email, cloud apps and infrastructure. SOC as a Service, often called a Cyber Defence Center in Switzerland, is the umbrella term for an externally operated Security Operations Center. Our Managed SOC is an MXDR service: we correlate signals from Defender XDR, Entra ID and Azure in Microsoft Sentinel and respond directly within your environment.

How does glueckkanja protect admin access against ransomware?

With the Managed Red Tenant, an isolated admin environment for Microsoft 365 and Azure. Tier-0 accounts for Entra ID and Active Directory, along with their Privileged Access Workstations (PAW), sit in a dedicated tenant separate from the production environment, in line with Microsoft's Enterprise Access Model. We operate this environment as a fully managed PAM service for you, and for companies with NIS2 obligations or subject to the Swiss Information Security Act, it provides auditable evidence of privileged account protection.
